Photo Tips for Best Results
A great input photo means a great toy. Follow these tips to get the most adorable results every time.
Use Good Lighting
Natural daylight or soft indoor lighting works best. Avoid harsh shadows across the face or subject. If shooting indoors, face a window for even, flattering light.
Centre Your Subject
Place the main subject in the centre of the frame. Our AI focuses on the centre of the image, so off-centre compositions may crop out important details.
Keep It Sharp
A blurry photo will produce a blurry toy. Make sure your subject is in focus. Use portrait mode on your smartphone or ensure good shutter speed in low light.
Choose a Simple Background
Plain or minimally patterned backgrounds help the AI isolate your subject cleanly. Busy backgrounds can confuse the subject-detection step and affect the final result.
Use High Resolution
The higher the resolution of your input photo, the more detail the AI can work with. Aim for at least 1024 × 1024 pixels. Modern smartphone cameras are more than good enough.
Front-Facing Portraits Work Best
For people and pets, a straight-on or slightly angled shot gives the AI the most information. Side-on or extreme angle shots can result in less accurate toy faces.
Match Style to Subject
Classic style suits realistic portraits. Kawaii works wonderfully for pets and cute subjects. Chibi is great for characters and animated-style source images. Experiment to find the best fit!
Avoid Heavily Filtered Photos
Filters that drastically alter colour or add heavy grain can mislead the style-transfer step. Use lightly edited or unfiltered photos for the most accurate toy output.
🐾 Pet Photography Tip
Getting a sharp photo of a moving pet can be tricky. Try using your smartphone's burst mode and select the sharpest frame. A treat held just above the camera lens can help your furry friend look straight at you!
